why forever 21 and i have broken up

13 Nov

There was once a time when the only place I ever wanted to go was Forever 21. But being just slightly over the weight limit for their jeans – I was banned to the ever-so-cute jewelry and a handful of the tops that wanted to fit me (well, the ones where I didn’t look pregnant.) so, I desperately wanted to begin fitting into all of their clothes and I wanted ALL of them to look equally great on me. Therefore, I started working out.

When I began fall semester 2009, I weighed a horrible weight. I’m not embarrassed or ashamed about it and letting the world know my business has never been a concern, so I will go ahead and tell you what I weighed. You ready? I weighed one-hundred and eighty one pounds. Holy crap. That may not seem like a lot but on my petite frame, which could be potentially horrible. I’m 5’3 ½ feet tall. However, I always had an advantage, my body proportioned itself PERFECTLY. No one ever thought I was that much. And now, I had dwindled myself down to a good number, for now, but I still want to lose more. I’m at one-hundred and sixty. That’s like twenty-one pounds that I have lost. I look and feel better than I have in a long time.

Anyway, back to why Forever 21 and I broke up. Since you read about my losing weight and whatnot, you would probably be like, “what the hell is wrong with you?” ha-ha. Okay, this is where it gets semi-ridiculous. So, my boyfriend and I go to Nashville and I’m so excited, I haven’t been to Forever 21 in foreverrrrrrr. We go in and like always, I take a quick look-through to get a feel of where I need to be shopping at in the store (you know they have like everything there!) so I find the section that I’m drawn to and I begin looking at the jeans. THEY’RE SO CUTE! Ugh. [Now mind you at 181, that’s like a 13/14 size, no way they carry that size, now I’m like 11/12 and 9/10 depending on who makes the jeans. So in translation 13/14= 31, 11/12=30, and 9/10=29.] The section I decided to shop in, had all of the “Fabulous Finds”, which meant that they were really good steals. Jeans in this section are around $16 or so dollars. So, looking through the jeans, I see 24, 25, 26 (there’s 20million of this size!), 27, and 28. What the hell?? Where’s the 29 and the 30??? I did not just do all of this work to not get some stupid jeans. The only jeans I can find in the store in my size, which is not that big, are priced from $26.90 to $32.90. That is ridiculous and I was highly disappointed. All that hard work was for a letdown with this store. Now, the prices aren’t THAT EXPENSIVE, but if you know Forever 21 merchandise, it doesn’t last as long as you would think.

Thus, this is why Forever 21 & I are no more.

[thanks for reading my little rant post. :) ]
